MUST HAVE ANDROID APPS!

So, After some time... I am back with few updates for dear readers on the Android Apps.

 As explained in this post, SP flasher saved me from spending more dimes on a new phone. Before bricking and flashing, i had this issue of Google play services  being unable to install. I tried:

 1. Clear Play Store and Google Framework data and try to install- Unsuccessful!
2. Install APK after moving it to /system folder. Didn't work.
3. Uninstalling play store- No cigars!

 I am sure i tried a lot of other things as well but none worked for me. Heres the catch. Without Google Play Services, google MAP, Google earth, Location Mapping, Contact sync, Signing into apps or games was impossible for many.

 After flashing the readback rom using SP flasher; the first thing i did was open up browser and search for play services APK file. I though that if i open play store to download, that would enable the Framework and I may not be able to install. The APK file got installed!!! and now i am using the device in its full function!! I did read that after factory reset, the play services installation would work. But factory reset means loosing all data and settings.

 So No. 1 in my MUST have is GOOGLE PLAY SERVICES. 

 No. 2 BATTERY DOCTOR

Battery Doctor WAS an Apple iphone app which got ported to the Android system. For those of you who have issues with battery drain or charging, then this is the app for you.

PROS OF BATTERY DOC

  1. Charges battery Super Fast with unique 3 stage charging system. As you connect the charger, it will show SPEED Charging and then goes into continuous charging mode.
  2. SAVE POWER option as you open the app anywhere anytime allows to identify power hungry apps and you have one click access to terminate those battery draining apps.
  3. QUICK DROP DOWN MENU lets you handle and toggle wifi/gps/screen time out/brightness/etc.
  4. A small button called SMART SAVING at the top right side of screen helps to avoid killing important apps you use. those you dont want to kill. This menu also presents CPU management option so that the device can understand and adjust power usage. You can also keep a battery percentage icon on the status bar as well.
CONS OF BATTERY DOC
  1. Very few I can think of as this is my favorite app. The data cache is bigger than expected and keeps growing. 
  2. If the screen is locked, battery doesnt initialize well. As a routine, i always unlock screen prior to plugging in.
  3. Takes a bit more RAM space. right now its occupying 19mb on my phone.
  4. Takes some time to notify that an app can be moved to SD.

Moving on....

 No. 3 CLEAN MASTER

Clean Master is a utility that clearly cleans! hehe. It has a very clean UI and wont take much effort to learn. once the app is opened, it will show current RAM usage and also SD Card percents. Clicking on the percentages will show which apps have been taking most space.

 PROS OF CLEAN MASTER

  1. Clean and easy to use UI
  2. One click access to memory handling
  3. Built in Apps Move to SD/Phone memory is enabled for rooted devices
  4. Will notify if memory has reached a benchmark of your own adjustment.
  5. When apps are updated, it will identify the obsolete app files and clean them with one button access. Very Handy.
  6. Has option to choose which apps you want to keep without cleaning.

CONS OF CLEAN MASTER


  1. Takes 12MB of RAM space
  2. Sometimes startup gets slow when opening app.
  3. Too many app requests to star/comment on app.
No. 3 MOVEAPPS
ONLY IF ROOTED. This apps most positiveness is its ability to quick launch, show the apps that can be moved and also cleans your cache when you open it. If you have clean master, then there's no real use for this app. However, i recommend it because its easy and neat UI..for noobs, this would be the choice. However, the app will  show advertisements while connected to internet.
No.4 LAUNCHERS!- MINI LAUNCHER (KITKAT UI)


 I have tried almost all installable Launchers in Google Play Store, Aptoide, 1mobile store and even browsed to find more info. Basically what i want is a new UI to give me the feel of a new system; Fresh look etc. I have tried other KITKAT UI..namely Kcin Launcher and KK launcher as well. However, they start lagging and responds slow. This maybe because of my RAM space and not the app issue as play store has got good ratings on those apps as well.

 MINI LAUNCHER comes fully accessible with MINI sidebar from the HOMEPLUS developers. To get this function, you have to install the sidebar. By swiping from left to right, you will get access to recent calls, messages and even apps. They are a great Duo together.

 The Launcher is smooth, clean and provides a theme manager. However, i note that when i click on  more themes from theme manager, it does not direct me to MINI launcher themes but everything named as Themes in play store. The additional themes are not as good looking as the stock mini launcher theme.

 The MINI Launcher Slidebar and IOS control center Android are not Launchers but additional additives to make the addictive android more accessible. My current setup is MINI LAUNCHER With MINI slidebar and it feels good!
